Nicole Nuñez

Hometown: Hackensack, New Jersey Nicole Nunez

College: I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2017 with a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization and Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

About me: I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey, to parents who nurtured my budding passions to explore and create. My love for tinkering eventually led me to pursue an engineering degree at RPI in Troy, New York. I was deliberate about making my education as interdisciplinary as possible, complementing my engineering major with classes in art, architecture, and business. I was most active in RPI’s chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and I held several positions, including Regional Representative, throughout my 4-year tenure. When I wasn’t taking classes, I worked in different coastal cities across the US including Seattle, Los Angeles, and Providence, RI. My most recent adventures include a US cross-country road trip, a month-long, self-guided solo trip throughout Western Europe, and a trip to my parents’ homeland, Bolivia. Among my greatest talents is the ability to live out of a small backpack for months at a time.
Team Space ID: Teacher, Pioneer

Personal Interests: In my spare time, I enjoy Latin dancing, biking, hiking, reading, noodling on my guitar, maintaining my fluency in Spanish, and crafting of all forms—woodworking, fiber arts, and scrapbooking to name a few.

Professional Interests: I love to learn, I am highly autonomous, and I never shy away from dealing with a complex subject matter. I thoroughly enjoy being paid to learn as an ASE at Cisco, and so far, I have found that I have a natural interest in the Data Center and Security architectures. While I am open to any opportunity in the Northeast, I am curious to know more about roles in Commercial Sales and Service Provider.
